A Florida pastor Terry Jones plans on burning the Koran of Muslin in honor of the victims of the 9/11. He wants to burn it because he wants to send a message to the Muslims about what would happen to anyone who want to do something to the U.S, also to show that they are not welcome after the crisis that left many injures, deaths, and families alone with out their loves ones. This will create a serious violence between American troops and Muslims, the American military is in danger because there would be “a recruitment bonanza for Al Qaeda” as the President Barack Obama said. The president also said that “this country has been built on the notions of religious freedom and religious tolerance," which connects to the Constitution and the rights that we have as citizens of the U.S and also to the amendment 1 because even though we have the rights of freedom we should not do want ever we want as stated by one of the reporters who interview the president. He also mention that it is contrary to our values as Americans meaning that is the opposite from who we are, as John Locke said the state of law are the reasons for doing something, this is about Mr. Jones choosing to burn the Korans which for them means like their bible just because what happen 9th years ago, when the terrorist attacked the twin towers in the city of New York. Even though he said that the burning of the Koran maybe cancel for right now doesn't mean he will not do it, later he said that his plan was only "suspended" because he was "lied to" over a deal to call off the event in exchange for a promise to move a planned Islamic centre away from New York's Ground Zero” this is saying that he made a deal with imam Feisal Abdul Rauf about moving away from New York and going to a place far way from there but he said that he had never spoken to him, and his plan still on, but now he will burn about 20 copies. They had also say that he was trying to convey people to join him and burn 100 copies of the Koran. This is also causing a big impact on people because they are terrified about the Muslim reaction, and they think that what Mr Jones is planning on doing is wrong and should not do it. In my opinion I think he should not do this because it is also a way of disrespecting others' people religion and it will not bring back anything from 9/11 and also it will not change anything since now war is over. This can create a big suspension in people and our government because he is putting in danger the young people in Afghanistan who are away from their families.

  1. I think that pastor Terry Jones is going to far in trying to burn the Koran to honor 9/11. It’s not right what he wants to do and very disrespectful to the Muslim religion. I know that what occurred at 9/11 was a horrible tragedy but not all Muslims are to blame. He is trying to take advantage of his right to the first amendment by trying to defend himself with it. Karina I think you did a good job in explaining your article and opinion.
